Well, I am not sure we could have asked for better games. What a joy to have competitive matches. After what Ohio St did to Oregon, I was not expecting Texas to hang around but did they ever. The score was not really indicative of the game which is unfortunate. And Notre Dame, nice work. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of you but you played with heart.
Thursday and Friday’s Games:
Notre Dame 27 Penn St 24
Ohio St 28 Texas 14
Very exciting stuff across the board. Some serious jumbling at the top of our table. I am sorry to say to our young upstart, Ben Milano, you’re cooked. But, you still are in the mix for second prize money which wouldn’t suck! After a great run, the gig is up for you young man. Ashley Kelley, the lovely wife of our good friend Brian “Belichick” Kelley is fighting for massive glory and is going toe-to-toe with Joe Edd Sr. For some reason, I am not too put out about this particular 300 Round Pond affiliate in the mix for PPP money. And, who doesn’t like Joe Edd? I mean the guy is a gem. In all seriousness, I am never upset about any winner of the AHFP and simply blather on about Brian Kelley stealing all our money because it makes for good click bait. Brian knows I love him and takes the “Bardian” lashing like a champion.
Our calculus is simple: Notre Dame wins, Joe Edd wins. Ohio St wins, Ashley Kelley wins. I like simple; it goes with my intellect. However, the second prize role is most definitely more murky. We will be needing tie breaking procedures to determine who takes that cake regardless who wins the National Championship Game. I think we can all be pretty pleased with the new CFP tournament. It has been pretty fun and I believe we successfully navigated the challenges of aligning it with our family tradition. Yay us. One more game to go: Monday, January 20 is when it all comes to an end. Always a bittersweet time for us. So, let’s enjoy each other’s company for the next 10 days!
