Day Recap: I did not watch much football yesterday, I guess I was a little “footballed” out from Jan 1 though I did catch the last few minutes of the Mayo Bowl just so I could start the documentation process for these updates. The games were not awesome though the score of the Mayo Bowl was a not indicative of the game itself (the second half specifically). It’s a lot of football but the real fun this year has been our little family tradition.
Friday’s Games:
Armed Forces Bowl: Texas St 41 Rice 10
Liberty Bowl: Navy 35 Cincinnati 13
Duke’s Mayo Bowl: Wake Forest 43 Mississippi St 29
At PPP, we always say that the fun is in the mayhem. It is our impression, in discussions with the the Board, that this year’s AHFP is one of the zaniest in memory. The question is why? Is it the state of the NCAA in terms of the portal being an equalizer or is it just the general sense that on any given day, any team can win? As it relates to our competition, the success or failure of the contestants that participate is not really something that matters only that the mess that ensues during the competition is maximized. Yes, we do root for or against certain players but that is merely for the purposes of drafting prose and the proverbial sharing of the spoils. We love all of you regardless of your humility or arrogance…..What is fascinating about this year’s competition is that the folks at currently at the top of the table have no dogs left in the race yet, there is a scenario where they can still win this tournament. How the heck is that possible? Yet it is and that is why we love this thing. Recall that the semifinal games are worth two points each and the final is worth three – so we could theoretically see a player jump from way down the table and into the lead should things play out just so. It actually makes my head hurt. My recommendation to you is to strap on the seat belt and be ready for a wild ride. Check our site for more analysis once things play out next week!
We love you all and we love the mayhem! Please be sure to get your entry fees in ASAP. Thanks!
Sincerely,
The Chairman

Peggy/Team Schickler, it is our pleasure at PPP to provide joy to the masses. Entertainment is our business. Thank you for the very kind note.
The Chairman
Let’s go! As a returning player (I participated years ago but have been on hiatus) in this most fascinating CFB Pool it is exciting to see my name (as well as our oldest son Josh) on page one of the standings. I truly enjoy reading all of the captivating content the Chairman posts throughout this ongoing event. Thanks Chair! I wanted to make sure that I sent a note thanking 🙏 the Chair for all of his work and for extending this pool to myself as well as our three boys. Go Team Kane!
Steve, we can’t tell how happy it makes us to have you back, and bringing the brood along for the ride. Team Kane has showcased very well in this year’s AHFP. We will have to see if it is beginner’s/returner’s luck or if you actually have some skill. I am guessing you know where the money is on that bet!
All the best,
The Chairman
